From zero
to 44 km.
I'm Alexandre. I live in Tbilisi. I quit smoking in March 2025. A year later, on 10 April 2026, I went for my first real run — not the occasional half-hearted jog.
10 April 2026 — the first run
One kilometer. It felt like ten. I walked most of it and coughed for the rest of the day. I went again two days later anyway.
Six weeks later — first half marathon
Probably too aggressive. Definitely too aggressive. But I finished. Something clicked that morning — not about racing, about what's actually possible if you just keep going.
Now — 44 km in the mountains
On 11 October 2026 I'm running the Lisi Trail Marathon — 44 km around the ridges above Tbilisi. First mountain race, longest distance, biggest unknown. This blog is the journal between now and the start line.
What this is
A public training journal. Honest, direct, experience-first. Not a coaching site. Not a brand. Just notes from one runner figuring it out.
